The track is entitled BISA and it is a collaboration between three international artists of African heritage and it is a special tune. Music has many purposes, many uses; one is to inspire another is to give pleasure, some tunes even educate; this one hits all three. We know TY here at D101, he has visited us on many occasions we have broke bread [dinner] and we have reasoned and he is amongst many things – what is known as a concious rapper. NNEKA is currently one of Africa’s most successful artists because her voice sends a shiver of pleasure down your spine when she clicks into Nneka mode, and her management team have worked tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure the world knows about her talent. BLITZ THE AMBASSADOR is a lyricist of Ghanaian heritage and he sets the tone for the track with his opening thought provoking verse highlighting the plight of the African Continent:
“Look How We Living,
Bodies Are Free But Our Minds Are In Prison….”
“War is how they’re making their funds,
Show me a factory in Africa that’s manufacturing guns,
Yet there’s AK 47’s in every village but no food…”
Some may say this is left-wing rhetoric, others will have their own views. Coming from what we believe to be a rich and diverse musical foundation – we can only salute this piece of work that will educate an entire generation, yeah it is that deep. Young Africans especially those in Africa will appreciate this. Musically and lyrically on point, love the bass.
I’ve been reliably informed that BISA means ‘ASK’. The track is from Blitz The Ambassador’s WARM UP EP released this week. No video yet, you can listen on Blitz’s Soundcloud.
